Meet at 11am for the off.

Spring is in the air and our live hares have sprung this week 🙂

This week, for your delight and entertainment, you are cordially invited to chase down our Live Hares – Clippety Clogss and Dogloss. The phrase “Catch me if you can!” definitely comes to mind.

Here’s a little Poem… to set the scene…

The Trail of the Two

Listen! We have heard of the harriers’ haste, Of Clippety Cloggs and Dogloss the bold. Across the green kingdom and gorse-covered waste, A path they have woven, a story untold.

They bounded like harts through the morning’s bright dew, Marking the mud with a sign and a stride; Behind them a band, a fellowship true, Set off in their shadow with nowhere to hide.

“Track them!” cried one, as they peered at the grass, “Follow the flour and favor the flints! Through thicket and thorn-bush the leaders did pass, But we hunt as a pack for the ghost of their hints.”

As a team they did toil, over hill, over hollow, With breath like a bellows and hearts beating fast; Where the first two did lead, the many did follow, Through sunlight and shadow till shadows were cast.

“We shall catch them together!” the company cheered, Sharing the burden and shouting the way; Till the heels of the leaders at last appeared, In the gold-glow of evening, the end of the day.

At the edge of the earth where the trail met its end, The r*nners were gathered, the journey was done; No longer the hunted, but friend beside friend, For the race is a glory when many r*n one.

Fringford is ready, our Hares are ready, are you?

What’s not to like?
