The Greatworth Inn, Chapel Road, Greatworth, Banbury, OX17 2DT from 11am.
The pub, is a free house and member of CAMRA, run impeccably by John and Margaret (thank you for your good work!). This is another pub with an Impressive Aunt Sally – the best in the league by all accounts (well – trip advisor says so – so it must be true).
There is a beer garden (which was newly opened in May 2018 and again in June 2023), is where you will find the Aunt Sally – I hope she’s still there.
Sounds like a cracking pub – and Sunday Roasts are served from 12.30-15.00. Awesome!
Public Information Broadcast – A Hares Warning
It’s the calm, quiet and confident Hares you have to worry about the most.
Some Hares, they say, have been trained at the Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian high table of Hash House Harrier Haring.
Some have been known to lay their trails blindfolded.
Some have laid them backwards.
Some even without chalk or flour. [any guesses?]
Some without gravity.
Some, they say, are on a constant journey – laying a never-ending trail of life ups and downs (and falses).
Then there’s Preacher – who sets the trails and standards for all other Hares to reach.
Some say he has Black-Belt level cunning, conniving, decoying and plotting skills.
Some say he employs a robot hare to lay his trails for him…
Some say his flour never fades, some say his flour never leaves the Tesco bag.
Some say (in hushed hash circles) that his trails must come with a health warning.
Some can no longer speak… some just have a look of submission… some have never returned…
Others say, that a Preacher trail simply can’t be beat!
All I know is – he’s called (the) Preacher, and he’s got a trail for you! Let’s hope you’ve been faithful to the flour and not sinned (non-alcoholic beer) 😊.
Our RAs will be on hand to offer their divine wisdom and show you the light (of) brown ale at the end of the tunnel.
