Monday 12th August, Trail #2587. The hash trail this week starts and ends from:
Ye Olde Reindeer Inn, 47 Parson’s Street, Banbury – OX16 5NA.
Meet for a 7.00pm off with Thrifty as your hare.
This is the first day of the rest of our lives – following the Paris Olympic Games of 2024.
We’ve lived the dream, bought the t-shirt – gone through all the highs and lows of the Bronze, Silver and Golds…we’ve watched the opening and closing ceremonies, and we’re back with a green tick on Facebook. So, all is well. 😊
What better way to celebrate such new beginnings, than by joining the BH3 trail hash.
!!! We’re in Banbury Baby !!!
The pub is Banbury’s oldest, dating back to 1570 – the same year that Thrifty laid his first trail [only joking – it was of course his second trail].
The pub is also designated as Hook Norton’s Flagship establishment – so in theory – it should have everything the Brewery has to offer, and ‘nowt’ should be ‘owt’ – as they say.
The weather has been mixed, but the trails have been consistently EPIC so far this ‘BST season’ – will Thrifty come through with another legacy trail to bolster the BH3 history books.
Now, not only is the pub steeped in history, but it also boasts a garden, function room, serves food and drink (phew! – I was wondering) – and is pet friendly. This is a first – yes a first for BH3 and, well for me – anyway, officially ‘laptop friendly’ – yes – you can book a table which is specifically for your laptop to take a break while you have a r*n and a few down downs. How cool is that!
How so very ‘Banbury Baby!’ it’s all happening here…and if it’s not, then our RAs will have missed something surely…?
