Not to be confused with the Chagos Islands. Meet at 11am for the off.

Please be alert, Thrifty Gaffer is our hare this week. He has flour and consumed alcohol. Do not approach this individual. He is posting on social media and extremely keen. Only approach with caution and do not attempt to engage him in conversation. He will tell you that there is a trail, and that it creates a beautiful continuous circular route from the pub out yonder fields and back to said pub. You have been warned!
Thrifty G reaches the parts that other hares cannot reach. He opens the doors, swaps the barrels and charms the land lords. Either that or he’s found a set of keys in the car park – and managed to work his way into this community pub. Either way, it’s a great opportunity for us to visit and drop the mike with a song and a beer. Hoorah!
Thrifty G reaches for the flour that other hares cannot reach – and then puts it back on the shelf for another day (why waste it?). He sets a trail that defies the laws of physics, space and time. I’ve heard it said that the night before he lays a trail, he pays homage to the gods of barley and mow – and sleeps with his feet on the pillows. He lights a candle and then blows it out with a kiss. Part of his own soul is lost to the trail whenever he lays it, well that and a few quid because he always rewards himself with a crafty pint at the end.
My sauces tell me that there will be XT4 and Rebellion IPA on tap. Marvellous! We could even do a spot of hashing while we’re about it!
