For me, this is the best of both worlds – and what we have in store for you lovely people on Sunday – is the best of BH3 – if not The World!
We have a cracking brewery, with cracking ale a plenty, we have a cracking village, and a crackpot hare. 😊
Thrifty G has been preparing for this Hash for quite some time… Go back a while and you will have seen him planting his own seeds, farming the land; harvesting and grinding his own crops to make the perfect flour for our trail this week. Rumours abound that he even submitted planning permission – because he wasn’t quite happy with the footpaths out to the west. Everything has been meticulously planned…
He’s had 3 Weetabix every day for over a whole year. (A new Launton – possibly Bicester base local legend record). His body battery has been fully rested and re-charged. He’s reworked the OS map of Brill and the surrounding area, so much so that when he sleep-walks, he’s always on the footpath. His body is a (temporary) temple, no drugs, alcohol or walnut whips for the last 36 hours. His trainers have been kept in the freezer, so he leaves no heat signal trace when he lays the trail.
The Brewery has been running a 3-shift production pattern – preparing for the huge demand on the pumps when Thrifty pulls in the punters… They’ve built a dedicated car park, allowed dogs on site, opened the gate early and even created a guest wi-fi and installed contactless payment. There might even be someone behind the bar on duty!
So turn up, turn it up, turn on the heat, turn left, turn right and turn down all other offers for your Sunday morning. It’s all there for the taking, it’s all in or all out. Stick or twist. You can do it! Thrifty G can do it! You’ve got this!
If there are lots of press or paparazzi at the brewery, don’t panic. It’s perfectly normal for Thrifty G to have a following. He was once mistaken for Ali G, and although it was only ever rumoured, perhaps, just perhaps, they were non-identical twins separated at birth. I guess we will never know… All I know is… the press just love him!
