The Swan, Main Street, Grendon Underwood, Aylesbury, HP18 0SW.

Meet at 11am for the off!

The Pub

The Swan at Grendon, is a thatched pub, situated in a row of houses. It reopened in June 2024, with a new investor joining the two previous owners. Quality ales, lagers, wines & spirits. 5 star food, dogs and well behaved hashers welcome.

The Village

Is a village and civil parish in West Bucks, home to a handful of people, in 2011 the population was 1,625 people. In 2021, it was 727. Back in 1086, the Domesday Book records the village name as Grennedone, derived from the Old English for ‘green hill near a wood’.

Amenities on offer include: ‘extensive playing field for sport and open-air exercise’, a toddler park for the under 7s, an extensive playground with a range of equipment for ages 7-12 and memorial benches.

Not much listed for the 18s…maybe a pub, a church, a couple of benches and a field is all you need?

Perhaps this village needs more…it needs a shake up! It needs a man with a stick!

The Hare

As if by magic…  what do we have here? We have a Hare and err… what’s that he’s got?

Oh. It’s a stick!  Wait… what’s that on the end of his stick?

Err… well it’s not flour – let’s hope he’s laid that round the playing field to/from the pub.

It’s not pleasant – let’s hope we’ve ordered in some pleasant weather – we could do with some!

So – what it is that on the end of his stick…?

Perhaps the only way to find out, is to join us on the trail.

WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE ?
